Whitman Youth Soccer League travel teams — for players 11 or older by Aug. 1, 2011 — play in the Wayne Finger Lakes Youth Soccer League.
The Wayne League is a competitive league, and Whitman teams will play other teams in Wayne and Ontario counties. All home games will be played on one of Whitman CSD fields. Travel to away games at other schools in the area is a requirement, though frequently carpooling is available.
WYSL plans to field boys' and girls' teams in the U13, U15, and U18 age divisions.
League games start in mid-June and run through the end of July. Teams practices are determined by the individual coach. Though subject to change, games typically start at 6:45 pm using the following schedule:
Girls U13 Monday and Thursday
Girls U15 Wednesday and Friday
Girls U18 Tuesday and Sunday
Boys U13 Tuesday and Friday
Boys U15 Monday and Thursday
Boys U18 Wednesday and Sunday
Registration is $85, which includes a uniform and player insurance. Players must wear FIFA-approved shin guards. Players should bring water and a properly inflated ball to practices.
